The Fresh Start Process
You will receive a welcome letter when you first sign up.
We are excited that you have decided to work with us and look forward to helping you achieve a new and improved credit score.
There are a few steps you need to take to get the Credit Analysis started:
1. Obtain all three credit reports
We encourage all of our clients to sign up for a trial membership with www.PrivacyGuard.com . It will cost you $1.00 and there will be a series of questions to verify your identity. If you cannot get through the ID
Verification process, you will need to call their support department.
Once you have signed up for PrivacyGuard, please send us your Login Username and Password so we can download the information. If you prefer, you can fax or email the reports to us but this may extend the time to complete your credit analysis by up to three business days.
We recommend you continue the credit monitoring that PrivacyGuard offers to see changes in your credit file and all three scores, or you can cancel their service on their website within 14 days of the date you signed up.
If you do not cancel your PrivacyGuard membership by the 14th day of your trial, you will be charged $19.99 for their service. (Friendly Tip: If you call PG and tell them you really love their service but cannot afford it, many times they will give you a discount up to 50%)
The only way for us to update your credit scores in your personal Client Portal is if you maintain an active PrivacyGuard account.
Signing up for Privacy Guard is THE FASTEST WAY to get started but not required. The data from the PG reports can be downloaded directly into our system.
Alternatives to Privacy Guard are to request your credit reports by mail or fax by contacting the credit bureaus directly or by going to www.annualcreditreport.com and completing their online ID verification process.
Please note: If you choose an alternate method, our staff must manually enter all of your credit information into our system before the credit analysis can be completed which may take up to three business days from the day we receive the reports.
In order for us to send dispute letters on your behalf we need a copy of the following items:
- Photo ID (Driver’s License, State-issued ID, Military ID, Passport)
- SS Card (Optional, but helps future re-disputes. May be required in the future)
- Recent Utility Bill (Must have clear name and current address)
Alternatives to a Utility Bill include a major credit card statement, bank statement, insurance statement or mobile phone statement.
Please forward these items by fax or email. Or, you can capture a picture of these items and send them by text message.
3. Client Portal & Agreement
By now you should have received an email from us with a link to click on so that you can have access to our online Client Portal.
If you have not yet received this email please reply to this email and let us know so we can fix it immediately.
- Click on the link in the email.
- Set up your login information.
- Save your login details in a safe place.
Once you login, you will see our Client Agreement.
In order for us to complete your Credit Analysis and begin working on your credit you must electronically sign our agreement.
Now that you know how to get the process started, you have a small task list to complete. It may seem like a lot of work on your end but, rest assured, as soon as this list is completed it will be only 24-48 hours before we are talking about which items on your credit reports we want to correct first.
